HEAT AND TEMPERATURE || RELATION BETWEEN HEAT AND TEMPERATURE

HEAT AND TEMPERATURE || RELATION BETWEEN HEAT AND TEMPERATURE

INTRODUCTION:

  • When we touch the heat it's feel 'hot' but water kept in the refrigerator feels 'cold' .

HEAT:

Heat is a form of energy which makes us feel hot or cold. The molecules of a body are in a state of rapid motion and the higher the temperature the faster they move . Heat can be identified with the kinetic energy of the molecules in motion.

  • unit of heat is :calorie

TEMPERATURE

  • The degree of hotness of a body , compared with some standard of the temperature of body,
  • unit of temperature
The SI unit of temperature is kelvin (k). and other common unit of temperature used in degree Celsius (⁰C) and Fahrenheit (⁰F) .

K = C + 273

Where , K = Temperature in kelvin scale
C = Temperature in Celsius scale

Freezing and Boiling points in different temperature

Scale
Freezing point
Boiling point
Centigrade (C)
0C
100C
Fahrenheit (F)
32F
212F
Kelvin (K)
273K
373K

FORMULA

Convert centigrade to Fahrenheit & to kelvin

1.  C/5 = (F - 32) / 9
2.  C/5  = (F - 32 ) / 9 = (K - 273) / 5
